Mildred Masten Bach Music Scholarship—$1000: Awarded to a member of Avenue Church who is planning to study voice or instrument at a college or private music school.

John Dressler Music Award—$750: Awarded to a highly qualified music student who has made a significant contribution to the music ministry at Avenue church and will be studying music in college.

Harvey & Eunice Staats Scholarship—$600: Awarded to a graduating senior who has regularly attended Avenue Church worship service and Sunday School.

Merritt Tatman Scholarship—$650: Awarded to a graduating high school senior who attends Avenue Church.

Charles “Bucky” Johnson Award – $250: Awarded to a member of Avenue Church who is a graduating senior and has been a well-rounded student with athletic achievement.

Judith Warrington Memorial Scholarship—$500: Awarded to an individual who will be studying education in college; may be given to a graduating high school senior, a person who is attending college or has been out of school for a while, or a person seeking an advanced degree.

Sara Prettyman Scholarship—$500: Awarded to an individual who has regularly attended Avenue Church; may be given to a graduating high school senior, a person who has been out of school for a while, or a person seeking an advanced degree.

Lewis Family Trust – $500:  Awarded to a graduating senior who will be entering college; either a 4-year program or a 2-year program. A student who: 1.  Is involved in the activities at Avenue; either church membership or youth group, 2.  Scholastic achievement will be considered as well as community involvement and other activities such as a need to work.  3.  Financial need would be a deciding factor if there is more than one candidate.

• All applications must be returned to Avenue Church by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024.
• All Avenue scholarships will be presented during Student Recognition Day, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the 10:30 service.

Other Scholarships:

The United Methodist Men’s Scholarship—$1,000: Presented to a graduating High School Senior who is a member of Boy Scout Troop 186. Contact Assistant Scoutmaster, Rick Bennett, for an application. Information on the scholarship can be found HERE.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship—$1000: Presented by the Milford Area Ministerial Association to a graduate living in the Milford School District (or a member of Avenue graduating from another High School).
**Please make note that the deadline for the Martin Luther King Scholarship is  April 30, 2024. The application must be turned into the church office. Pastor Steve will then write a recommendation and send it on to Calvary Church.

The 2024 Paul Rimmer Music Scholarship–$500: The Rimmer Scholarship was established at Avenue Church in memory of Paul Rimmer who was an outstanding church musician. This scholarship is designed to assist students in grades 7-11 with musical training. One scholarship is awarded yearly, on Sunday, May 12th at the 9:00 a.m. worship service. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is: 1) currently in 7th – 11th grade, 2) currently or has recently been involved in the Music Ministries of Avenue Church, and 3) willing to use his or her musical talents in the ministry of Avenue Church. The Scholarship is $500 which will be paid to a music teacher or music school on your behalf. Please return completed applications to the church office by Friday, May 3, 2024. Avenue Preschool Scholarship: $700 Scholarship (2) The Avenue Preschool Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who either attends Avenue Church and/or was a student of Avenue Preschool.  Scholastic achievement and community involvement will be considered, as well as other honors received.
